Back to School Night Reminder

ghandi

I went to my son’s back to school night last night and was reminded again and again how much money the state of California doesn’t have. Sports are now on a “pay to play” system, there’s not enough paper or ink to do this or that, blah, blah, blah – it went on and on. It struck me at one point that this microcosm situation is just one of the many lack-thinking events that one hears in these “tough economic times.”

If you are on the law of attraction bandwagon like I am, and understand that energetically, “like attracts like,” you may be asking yourself, “What am I doing to have this in my life?” or Why is this lack in my life now?” But I’m thinking that a more resourceful question or actual state of mind may be, “How can I consciously and consistently create abundance and prosperity?” or more specifically, “How many ways am I abundant now?”

The what and why questions lead you through the victimizing feelings of lack even if you do get yourself together enough to then crawl out, and the how questions propel you to an inner place of imagining the possibilities. Unhook yourself from victimizing feelings and work to be in a consistent state of feeling abundant…as Ghandi once said, “Be the change you want to see.

I have a little card that has Ghandi’s quote on it placed in my dressing area, so each and every day, I see it. It’s my little reminder to not attach myself to the current “illusion du jour.”

I am so blessed to have a school that cares, is safe, is close enough to walk to, and that my son likes. I am blessed to have the money to purchase some paper and ink for my son’s school.

Shew! That makes me feel better already. And its those good feelings that start  to gather together, and eventually reveal once again the great abundance that was always there, hidden behind our dualistic illusions of fear and lack.

How do you keep your state of mind and thoughts in ever-abundance?

webinar

I just got back from Atlanta, Birmingham and Nashville where I was doing consultations for a week (wow – they’re getting pounded with rain!) and now I’m preparing for my upcoming trainings. I’ve got my brand spanking new 8-week webinar that begins next Wednesday the 29th, and my ”Mindful Mastery” training here in Orange County, CA starting the 30th. I can’t wait!

For those of you who may be infamiliar with the term webinar, let me take a moment to explain it is and how it works. Hey, until very recently, I didn’t have a clue how they worked either.  For some unknown reason, I have to be dragged into learning new technologies. But now that  I see how totally easy it is, I’m so glad I took the time to learn!

A webinar, short for web-based seminar, is a presentation, lecture, workshop, or seminar that is transmitted over the internet. It is just like being in a live workshop where you hear the teacher live, watch the overhead presentation, and watch as the teacher draws on her flip chart (AKA white board.) You are able to ask questions and interact live and in real time as if you are in the room with the teacher.  You can even “take the marker from the teacher and draw something on the flip chart” if you need to explain something when asking a question. How cool is that? The only difference  between this and a hosted workshop at a brick and morter location is that everyone is sitting - wherever – in front of their computer. YEA— No airline tickets and hotel stays! This really keeps costs down!

All you’ll need is a phone and a computer to participate in the full presentation. (Upon enrolling, you will receive an email containing detailed instructions. These will include the link you’ll need to log on to the scheduled webinar.) It’s easy!

Oh, and one more totally cool thing — if you can’t make the class (or a session in the series) the entire presentation is recorded and a link is sent to you so you can view it at your leisure.

Last time I checked there were a few spots left if you want to jump in. Go to the programs page if you want more information, and take part in this fun, no-travel-required webinar.

Happy Anniversary to Me!

coupleHard to believe, but it was fourteen years ago today that I walked down the aisle and married my now hubby Steve. It seems like both yesterday and a lifetime ago that I was single and moving around the country for my landscape architectural career.  My how things have changed.

Now, I’ve got my own “you know you’re old when” list started as I do things that I thought were reserved for much older (than me at whatever age, of course) people. This summer I had my first taste: going to a wedding where I was friends with the parents of the bride. Yep, I was one of those people that fourteen years ago I considered a “seat-waster.”  Yes, I thought like that back then, embarassed to say.

Anyway, we’re going out to a nice dinner and away for the weekend in a couple of weeks (My husband still hasn’t told me where to yet!)

Yippee!
